G.O.A.T. Thermal Jacket
Designed for truly terrible conditions, the G.O.A.T. Thermal Jacket works across a range of suboptimal riding days, from driving rain to cool and damp mornings. Don’t let precipitation stand between you and your training—simply pull this on atop your regular gear and you will stay warm and dry throughout a tough session in the saddle.
Designed for the Professional
We’ve spent some pretty tough winters in different climates: the driving snow and wind of Bend, Oregon; the steady rain of Portland; the unrelenting cold of Canada, and it was from these crucibles that the G.O.A.T. Thermal Line emerged. We use a three-layer stretch fabric that hides a membrane underneath, turning the jacket into a highly water-resistant shell. That stretch fabric sits atop the Super Roubaix fleece we use in the G.O.A.T. bibs, bib knickers, tights, and arm- and knee-warmers. The combination of fabrics makes for a warm, dry, yet slim jacket—understated yet functional.
The Fastest Fabrics
And the best designed zippers! Zipper design on a piece of outerwear is crucial. Get it right and you never notice anything—the garment simply works as it is supposed to work. Get it wrong and the zippers chafe your face and waist, and you can never get them open wearing gloves. We tested hundreds of zippers, settling on a larger toothed zipper for smooth operation. Garages sit at the top and bottom, protecting you from flapping zippers in windy conditions. We bet you didn’t know so much about zippers, but that’s because we work on it for you, so you can get back to training in the wet.
Designed by Artists, Made by Hand
Our designers come from a diverse set of backgrounds, but they share the same vision: making you look like the coolest person for miles. Our iconic look got that way by defying the staid looks we saw around the triathlon and cycling world, and we continue to innovate each season. After our artists make the look, our seamsters and seamstresses build the garment by hand in our Vista, California factory, living our claim to Made in the USA.
Your Second Skin
Well, really your third skin in this case (or fourth, if you’re rocking a baselayer and jersey underneath and you live in North Dakota), but the principle remains the same: design something that moves with you, not against you. We include a long tail to the jacket that still hugs your body, refusing to become a spoiler while riding (and spraying water into your buddy’s eyes). The cuffs taper to the wrist, designed to work with a pair of long mid-weight gloves, keeping your hands insulated and dry even when water is running down your sleeves.
